Goosie turned 6

Goosie had a great birthday! (and I'm glad I got these pictures up before Valentine's Day;)
She wanted a fairy tale cottage cake and Mommy delivered! I love that I have been able to make their cakes since their first birthday! Thanks to growing up working with the caterer in the family and the cake decorating classes my parents gave me as a gift while pregnant with Boomer!
We should be 10 days away from hugging the Mr! Oh, the tears of joy that will be shed!
Now, could someone tell me how to cure 5.5 months of neglect to my body in 10 days? ;)

Two of Goosie and Boomer's two favorite people are leaving today to go home... Nana and Pop Pop... so we are a little sad...
However, we will share the joy of our weekend diva fun soon!

Goosie turns 5 today!

Happy Birthday, Goosie!

It's seems so incredible that it has been 5 years already!

Leo and I are so very proud of our Goosie! She approaches the world with wide eyes and wonder. It's amazing how a 5 year old can see something good in everyone and I just wish that innocence could remain.

She has become such a beauty and wonder to us... even on the days of feather boas, Barbies, and dress up :).

In Preparation...

Goosie will be turning 5 in a little over a month. It is VERY hard to believe that our little girl is growing so quickly. Little by little... the preparations have been made for the big birthday event.

You see... we made a pact that we would only celebrate the following birthday with big parties:

ages 1, 5, 10, 16, and 21.

I have to be honest... it's hard to stick to that pact. Well... it is for me. Growing up in a family with a catering business means I really don't know how to do it "small." This time, I am handing over all the cooking to someone else. It will take place at a tea house and I get to do all the fun stuff for the "Mommy and Me Cupcake Tea."

That's right... a tea for the Mommies and their little girls (of course, we are sneaking in Daddy, Pop Pop and Boomer).

I remember the day she was born... an ice storm... and the memories of going over the Wilson Bridge in DC praying she wouldn't make an appearance during rush hour!

I am very honored to be her Mommy... I hope it takes a long time to get to the point where I am preparing for her 10th birthday party!
