Matching Beanie Sets for your Girl and Her Doll!!

Last year I took several special orders for matching hats: girls and 18" dolls! My daughter had to have a copy of each order. I loved seeing her so excited to dress up her doll! I have started the Fall season with the matching apple beanies. I could do any of the beanies in matching sets, though. There are footballs, acorns, pumpkins, candy corn, and more!!!! If you would like to place an order, you can email me: hils12ac@yahoo.com or check out the Goosie and Boomer Bowtique Facebook page. I will have them loaded this week to the etsy store, too. Get your order in soon so you can hit the orchards in the matching set!!!

Keeping It Real!

If you have ever met me, you know that I am a bit crazy about keeping my house clean. In reality, when orders start to pile in... this is how things go for me: The abandoned dining room table becomes piled with dishes, beanies, tutus, hairbows, etc. The kitchen becomes cutting/work station central: And the carpet doesn't get vacuumed so it looks like the white carpet is wearing a black mohair sweater thanks to the Aussie Shepherd that explodes every 5 feet. (We love him so we let him get away with it :). In reality, my washer broke and I have to wait 2 weeks for delivery of the new one. When the Mr. said it would take two weeks to get it, I think I had a slight heart attack. But, we deal because in life... that's just something minor. I'm thankful that I am able to wait on that washer. I'm thankful that my house is a mess because orders are rolling in to be done. I'm thankful for the family I have and the customers that have become dear friends! Count your blessings... not your messes!

Back to School Wreath

It won't be long until I hear the school bus roaring through our neighborhood! Today, I made a wreath for our door to get the kids in the spirit of "Back to School!" This is a big year for Boomer as he heads off to Kindergarten (yes, I have bought my box of tissues)... I went to Michael's today with a 40% off coupon and purchased the wreath form (green foam), and and unfinished frame. I had the following: black polka dot fabric, red acrylic paint, red felt, and white ribbon. You will need to cut the fabric in 1 inch wide strips and wrap and hot glue the fabric around the wreath form. I painted the unfinished frame red and as it dried I was able to wrap the wreath with the fabric. I printed the "Back to School" on cardstock paper (my front door is protected so I don't have to worry too much about the fading). Next, I made the "banner" by hot gluing white ribbon across the fabric covered wreath. Then, I cut red triangles from the felt and hot glued them over the ribbon. I had the red felt flowers already made so I attached three of them across the top. Happy Back to School!!!! Back to School Teacher Gift!

It is so hard to believe that we are just a couple of weeks away from school buses, homework, new clothes and packed lunches! Goosie and Boomer are getting excited to begin 3rd grade and Kindergarten. I thought it would be nice to start the year by letting our new teachers know just how much we appreciate them! I remember (though it has been years) the amount of time and effort that goes into preparing for a new year. Usually, it is done on their own time without pay. Sooo!!! Here is the idea that I had pinned from here I "tweaked" the idea by recycling JIF peanut butter jars. I cut scrapbook paper to fit around the jar. Also, I cut a circle to cover the JIF label on the top of the lid. I printed the label "Teachers can't live on apples alone! They need HUGS, too!" Fill the jar with Hershey's hugs! I am waiting to find out their assigned teachers and then I will print a label for that, too. Have a wonderful school year!!!!
